Puppies on the move!

A beautiful fall day!

The pups love to be outside!

The puppies really had a great time outside today.  They were running everywhere!  Well they still aren't old enough to really run but they were moving pretty good.  The top photo is Prissy and purple boy having a little conversation.  Priscilla is enjoying her puppies a lot! She is an excellent mom.  She has already lost all her coat and is looking a little messy!  The second photo is blue boy having a look around, the third is pink girl and purple boy moving with pink girl the closer puppy.  Next is purple boy and last is green boy.  Green boy is still very funny and is always doing something really cute!  

The fantastic four are four weeks old!

Well the puppies had a great four week birthday! The weather was lovely and the puppies got to spend the afternoon outside. They loved it! They were exploring everywhere and doing just want little puppies love to do digging digging and digging! The puppies are absolutely and are totally adorable. They are so sweet and love to give lots of kisses! Again they are from top to bottom pink girl, blue boy, green boy and purple boy. Too cute!

The pups are drinking now!

What a great day when the puppies are able to lap up some extra formula. These little guys are hungry and are enjoying the extra formula and lucky us now that they can drink by themselves! They think it is quite yummy!

The fantastic four are three weeks old!

Three weeks old and growing and growing! The pups are doing great. Once again they are from top to bottom pink girl, blue boy, green boy and purple boy. Too cute!

Look at us now - day 18!

The pups are really changing now and are walking and playing and even giving a little bark or two! They are starting to chew on each other and are just TOO cute. You can feel little bumps where their teeth are coming so soon they will have little sharps coming through their gums. Still will be a few weeks until they have enough pressure in their jaws for any biting action. The pups are growing and growing and weigh around 3 - 3.5 lbs! Here they are again at 2 weeks old! The photos are from top to bottom pink girl, blue boy, green boy and purple boy. The puppies are really going to change a lot this week. At 3 weeks they start to resemble little Leonbergers. Their little heads and bodies really change a lot so quickly. Quite amazing really!

The fantastic four are two weeks old!

Wow how did that happen two weeks old already. The puppies are fantastic - so cute. They are all doing great and are growing, have fat little tummies and are very happy. They are starting to play now and their eyes are open. They are still not liking the heat we are having. We put a few water bottles in the box with cool water and they are sleeping on them - kinda like a little puppy water bed!

The puppy watcher!

The puppies are doing great and are moving around a bit. Our biggest issue now is keeping our little helper out of the puppy box. She loves the puppies and wants to be with them always. She is a good little helper!

We are all melting!

UGH it is SO HOT here in Nova Scotia that we are all just about to melt away. Even with the windows open there is almost no breeze coming through the house. The house is at 88 F and it is so humid too. The dogs are all panting everywhere and the puppies are pretty warm also. They at least are on the lower level of the house where it is a bit cooler but still way up over 80 F. We are not used to this kind of weather as a typical summer day around here is in the mid 70s. Several of the dogs have pretty big coats already getting ready for fall and now this heat is upon us. Too hot - we hope it goes away soon!

The fantastic four - day 12!

Well we have had a bit of a roller coaster ride here for the last few days with the puppies but thankfully with the help of my fantastic vet and lots of love, support and sleepless nights the puppies are all doing GREAT. We couldn't be happier. Puppies are so delicate those first few weeks and sometimes things just don't go the way you have it all planned. We hope that the puppies now continue to do well. They are so beautiful.

Their eyes are starting to open, you can see a tiny crack and a little bit of their eyes. They are starting to wobble around the box learning how to go up on all four legs. Sometimes they will now sit and you think they might be trying to look around. But mostly they still like to snuggle up with mom. Priscilla is doing great but is looking a little raggedy and worn out from all the laying around, though she is feeling good. It has been dreadfully hot here - unbelievably so - so we are all wishing for some cooler weather!

Priscilla taking a little break!

Priscilla is being a wonderful mom and spends all of her time with the puppies. They don't like it at all when she even leaves the box to go outside for a little break. As soon as they realize she is not there they start calling for her and as soon as she goes back with them they all settle down! Too cute but poor Priscilla needs a break soon. The first few weeks are pretty hard on mom that's for sure.

The fantastic four are one week old!

Wow hard to believe that a week as flown by already. It doesn't really seem possible. I guess that is what happens when the world basically stops and you spend most of your time sitting in the whelping box with mom and puppies. The puppies continue to do well and are so cute. The top photo is Green boy next to Pink girl (their rickrack came off!). The second is of Purple and Blue boys! Next week is another big week for them when they start moving around more and near the end of the week the eyes and ears will start to open and they will start to see and hear. There is plenty of noise around our home for them that's for sure! Enjoy!
